Bella Ramsay keeps getting asked about their experience in playing different ages of Ellie on The Last of Us, and they’re fed up of it. The actor, who was cast as Ellie in 2020, has noted that she’s tired of the subject.

As Ramsey has noted, it has been four years since season 1 entered production, with the Game of Thones alum has passed into adulthood in that time. As they noted, “I’ve grown up! Ellie’s grown up!”

Season 2 is set five years after season 1’s brutal finale, with Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) now living with Joel’s brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna) in their commune. The second season follows the plot of The Last of Us Part 2 with the game delving into tragedy, loss and grief with the show promising an intense season to match.

In the game, Ellie (Ashley Johnson) takes the lead after a brutal attack on the commune leaves the residents devastated and on a vengeful path. In the games, Ellie’s growth is noticealbe with a taller frame and more matured features from her teenage model in the first game. In the series, Ramsey has naturally aged from teenager to adult, but they’ve also learned some new skills.

In speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Ramsey vented her frustration with the repeated question about dealing with the age-jump. They stated, “There’s nothing to tell! I’ve got nothing to say to you! I’m going to get asked that question, probably every day for the next few weeks. So, no offense to everyone asking that question, but that’s the question I am a little bit sick of.” Ramsey has learned new skills for the new season, these include weight-lifting, boxing and jiu-jitsu as encouraged by the Showrunner Craig Mazin.
